PCR sealing film is a type of plastic film used to seal PCR plates for thermal cycling. The film is typically composed of a polyester material that provides an oxygen- and vapor-resistant barrier around the PCR plate. The film helps to prevent cross contamination between samples, and also prevents evaporation of the PCR contents during thermal cycling. It is generally available in pre-cut sizes to fit standard PCR plates.
